Drew Barrymore will produce and direct a film version of former Sex and the City script editor Liz Tucillo's debut novel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former child star will helm an adaptation of How To Be Single. Published in 2008, the novel charts the love lives of a group of women in New York over a decade.
Tucillo also wrote He's Just Not That Into You with Greg Behrendt in 2004. The new project reunites the creative team who worked with Barrymore on the big screen version of the self-help book.
Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn adapted the novel, with Michele Weiss (The Time Traveller's Wife), Michael Disco (Rock Of Ages, Valentine's Day) and Barrymore's business partner Nancy Juvonen serving on the senior production team.
How To Be Single will be the 36-year-old's second film as director following the 2009 comedy Whip It.
Helen Mirren will be honoured at the forthcoming CinemaCon convention.
The Oscar winner will receive the 'CinemaCon Career Achievement Award' at the event later this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
CinemaCon managing director Mitch Neuhauser called Mirren "a consummate actress" who "has entertained audiences around the globe for over four decades with her stunning performances on the big screen".
Neuhauser added: "CinemaCon could not be more honoured to present such an amazing actress with the 'CinemaCon Career Achievement Award'."
The 65-year-old won the Academy Award for 'Best Actress' for 2006's The Queen.
She will next be seen in the Arthur remake starring Russell Brand, opening April 11.
Tamsin Egerton has said that she is keen to make another St. Trinian's movie.
The actress, whose new film Chalet Girl opens in UK cinemas tomorrow, played Chelsea Parker in the 2007 Brit comedy and its follow-up St Trinian's 2: The Legend Of Fritton's Gold.
Asked if she had grown out of the comedy series, Egerton told Digital Spy: "No, I love St. Trinian's, I love it. Especially the second one, I had such an amazing time, one of the best summers of my life with those girls."
She continued: "I'd love to do another one. Why not? If it doesn't happen at least I've had some fantastic experiences, but I'll do number 10! I think they're great!"
Disney has reportedly dropped plans for a motion-capture remake of The Beatles' classic Yellow Submarine.
Back to the Future director Robert Zemeckis was to helm the project, which would have followed up his 2011 3D sci-fi film Mars Needs Moms.
Speaking to Deadline, studio insiders denied that the decision to pull the plug was based on takings for the comedy, which Zemeckis co-produced.
Yellow Submarine, under discussion since 2009, was intended to be made in time to open at the London 2012 Olympics.
Logan Marshall-Green has been cast in the Alien prequel Prometheus.
Marshall-Green, who starred on the TV series The O.C., will play a love interest for Noomi Rapace's character, according to Shock Till You Drop.
Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie also star in the film.
Marshall-Green most recently starred in the M. Night Shyamalan-produced movie Devil.
Prometheus is scheduled to open in theatres on June 8, 2012.
