Anna Paquin has revealed that the trick to screaming in Scream 4 is to remember that "none of it's real".
The True Blood star was cast in the new instalment of the horror franchise, where she joined regulars Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: "[Scream 4] feels like an easy choice because you already know everyone loves it."
When asked about her scream, the actress added: "The bottom line is, it's all acting."
Other newcomers to join the seires include Hayden Panettiere and Emma Roberts.
Arquette and Cox recently told a press conference that returning to the film was like being part of a family again, particularly as Cox's character has a child in the film.
However, veteran slasher director Wes Craven admitted recently that the film did not feel like one of his own since Scream 3 writer Ehren Kruger was brought in to redraft the script.
Scream 4 is released in US and UK cinemas on Friday.
