Edgar Wright 'completes Ant-Man script'

Edgar Wright has handed an Ant-Man script over to Marvel Studios, his writing partner has revealed.

The Shaun Of The Dead director's co-writer Joe Cornish confirmed at this weekend's Kapow! Comic Con that a second draft of the superhero film had been completed.

Cornish announced to Bleeding Cool: "We delivered the second draft of Ant-Man two days ago, and we're really happy with it."

The project, which has yet to be officially greenlit, is reportedly being lined up to follow Marvel's 2012 vigilante-team up The Avengers, and has a tentative 2014 release date.

Wright resumed work on the Ant-Man script in January after taking a leave of absence to complete Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Wright previously started that he wanted to create a "bad-ass" Ant-Man adaptation.
