Tangled trailer features all 50 Disney animated films

Walt Disney Animation Studios have released a short two-minute video to celebrate the imminent release of their latest film, Tangled by counting down the 49 animated features produced over the past seven decades.

The video ends with a look a Tangled - the 50th Disney animated feature - a new twist on the story of Rapunzel, the girl who let down her hair.
In Tangled, Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) is kidnapped as a baby by Mother Gothel (Donna Murphy) and locked in the infamous tower.

To celebrate Disney's landmark achievement, there will be celebrations next year including screenings of all 50 films at the BFI on London’s Southbank.

They'll also screen Tangled on the day of the premiere, followed by a Q&A with the directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard.

The BFI will then show a different animated Disney film every weekend for the rest of 2011, starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), which was the first full colour animated film, and ending with The Princess and the Frog (2009).

  1. I still loved the film and believe it's a great addition to Disney's animated classics. Lastly, let me just add a big "Yeah!" to the film's final moments when Flynn, back in narrator mode, reveals that it was several years before he and Rapunzel got married. A much better message for children than the more usual we-saw-each-other-twice-before-tying-the-knot which seems almost de rigueur in so many fairy tales.
