Williams 'likes challenging roles'
Michelle Williams has revealed that she never shies away from difficult movie roles.
The actress, who plays Marilyn Monroe in upcoming film My Week with Marilyn, explained that she couldn't help but take on the challenge of playing such an iconic figure.
She told Look: "I'm a glutton for punishment! I won't let myself shrink away from a challenge. While my mind is saying, 'Retreat, retreat, retreat!' my heart is already there and that's what ultimately wins."
The 30-year-old starred alongside Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine and Williams explained that their chemistry was so strong on screen because they had to live the lives of their characters Cindy and Dean.
She recalled: "We were driven to a house where our characters find themselves married with a young daughter and told, 'Make it a home'.
"We were allowed to make decisions about how to decorate it so we went to a studio to have our photos taken and hung them on the wall. We grocery shopped, cooked, cleaned our dishes, took out the trash... We made home movies. We made memories as a couple. We did everything but share the marital bed!"
