Lindsay Lohan may play murder victim Tate

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been offered the role of actress Sharon Tate, in a new biopic about the life of cult leader Charles Manson.

TMZ claims that Lohan has been offered the part of director Roman Polanski's late wife, but has yet to make her decision.

Tate was murdered in 1969 by some of Manson's followers, despite being over eight months pregnant.

The site also claims that American photographer Tyler Shields will both direct the film, and play the lead role of Charles Manson himself.

Shields has previously worked with Lohan on a controversial series of photos, in which the actress was pictured holding a gun to her mouth.

Scott Kozar is currently working on a separate biopic about the Manson family, starring True Blood actor Ryan Kwanten in the lead role.

Eyes Of A Dreamer will be produced by Brad Wyman, best known for his work on the 2003 film Monster, which starred Charlize Theron as famed serial killer Aileen Wuornos.
