Meg Ryan is getting behind the camera to make her directorial debut with Into The Beautiful.
A comedy drama likened to The Big Chill, Ryan has no plans to star in the film, instead concentrating all of her efforts on the directing department.
P.S. I Love You producer Wendy Finerman had this to say about the film:
“I’m often drawn to pictures that make you laugh and cry. I think this is the perfect project for Meg to bring to life. She’s poignant and funny and heartfelt.”
Hopefully Ryan will be able to steer clear of the horrible, cloying sentimentality of that Hilary Swank weepie when she kick starts filming in New York this September.
