Hostel director Eli Roth has admitted that he was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of horror movies released over the course of last year.
The Inglourious Basterds actor cited the likes of Let Me In, Monsters and Paranormal Activity 2 as some of his 2010 highlights.
"Paranormal Activity 2 I really, really liked. That movie was really scary," Roth said. "I actually saw it with Marilyn Manson and we were kind of cringing in each other's arms.
"We were jumping like school girls, it was fun. We've both seen everything so we don't think we're getting that scared, and then we see something that scares us," he added. "It's hard to scare us because we're pretty inured."
